My folks were just here visiting. They were here a week. It was great seeing them. Luckily I'm close to my family (maybe it's because we live 5,000 miles apart, lol) and we enjoy the time we get to spend together. We did get out to explore while they were here. I took them to Denali and they were able to go for a tour in the park. They saw pretty much everything, Denali included. The next day they took the train to Talkeetna. I met them there and then spent the night at the McKinley Princess lodge. Then came back to Fairbanks the next day. The funny thing is I felt like that was just a short drive. In actuality it was about 275 miles!! When I lived in Seattle I never would have considered driving that distance for a night. Funny how this state can change your perspective.
While we were out a moose stopped by to check on my cabin. It helped himself to my cabbages!! UGH!! I was so not happy when I realized that. Oh well, I'll try again next year. My sunflowers are still growing like crazy. My tomatoes, well, they are growing. The plants don't look so great. I'll definitely try a greenhouse next year. I will get a few tomatoes this year but nothing like I was expecting. A good first year effort tho.
I had my first outdoor theatre experience yesterday. I went with a few friends from work to see Othello. The director set it in 1942 and Othello was Native American. Interesting interpretation. But I realized I love outdoor theatre.
Not really much else to report. Things are going. Just been in a funk the past few days but I wanted to do a bit of an update.

It is great that you got to spend some time with your folks. I assume that moose is much harder to fend off from the garden than the deer! LOL.
Hope family visit was good, mooses and all. Outdoor drama can be great, if the mosquitoes don't invade!
