I'm back. Another successful trip up north and back. I took up 28 and brought back 35. We had great weather the whole trip. No rain. The bus hardly got dirty. Normally when I get back you can hardly tell what color the bus is. Not the case this time. That also means I didn't have to stop every ten miles and clean windows! lol
Great animal sightings both going and coming. Saw caribou, dall sheep, moose, marten (think mink), musk ox and a grizzly bear. The musk ox were awesome. Saw three herds. I think they are the coolest animals The grizzly was really cool. Saw it yesterday morning. It was about 15-20 minutes after we left Coldfoot. It ran out in front of the bus across the highway. I only saw it for a second but it was huge, at least 500-600 lbs. It was great! It disappeared as soon as it crossed the road but it was neat to see.
I head out again Friday for another seven days. Then I have one last trip on the 10th. That's really late. But someone else is going up on the 17th. Thank goodness that's not me!! On the 10th I only take a group up. I come back empty. I'll most likely have snow on the last trip, if not the trip on Friday as well. We'll see how it goes.
I had another flat this trip. :-( This one I had to change myself. I've never had to change a tire on my own. But I managed. It only took about 45 minutes. For no having done it before that was pretty good. I could probably do it in 30 minutes next time but hopefully there's no next time! lol The worst part is unscrewing the nuts after they are loosened and screwing them back on after the new tire is on. It's just tedious. A lot of the men in the group wanted to help out so I let them put the nuts back on, then I tightened them all. The tire weighs 150 lbs so it's a bit tricky to get on but it worked out. I've lost 140 lbs, almost the same weight as the tire. I can't imagine carrying around the extra weight of that tire!! How in the heck did I do that?
I got a good lead on where to buy an Arctic toilet seat. I'm going to go check it out in a bit. The toilet seat was cold this morning but it wasn't horrible.

I want to come on one of your bus trips. Can I sit in the front seat?
I'll come with along with Homer, but only if I can share the front seat with him.
Beautiful pictures. What gorgeious country. But, maybe I've missed the artic toilet seat - is it heated or something?
Nice pictures! The wild animal sighting is always fun as long as they are not too close! LOL.
